DIC invited its neighbors and friends to Thanksgiving and Neighborhood dinner. The program started with a presentation about Islamic understanding and perspective of thanksgiving. In the presentation Mr. Kocabas also mentioned why we need to be thankful and what we need to do for being thankful to God for the bounties we are given. Then the guests shared a dinner together. The program ended with a prayer.

On Friday, August 19, 2011, the Dallas Islamic Center and Lovers Lane United Methodist Church organized 6th Ramadan Iftar Dinner. Program was hosted by Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. Around 250 people attended this wonderful Iftar dinner. Pastor Mai Le of Lovers Lane UMC welcomed everybody and made a short prayer. Then Mr. Hamidullah Qiyam from the Dallas Islamic Center performed Athan (call for prayer) and guests started to have dinner. After the dinner, Pastor Dr. Copeland of Lovers Lane UMC made a speech about the importance of these joint events and shared his thoughts on friendship and dialogue between different faiths.

On August 26, 2010, the Dallas Islamic Center organized a traditional Ramadan Iftar dinner in collaboration with Congregation Kol Ami – Flower Mound, and Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound. The food was prepared by the members of the Dallas Islamic Center and the event took place in Congregation Kol Ami. Jews, Christians, and Muslims broke bread together to know each other better and celebrate a night of interfaith friendship.

On August 20, 2010, the Dallas Islamic Center and the Unity Church of Dallas organized 4th Ramadan Iftar Dinner. Program was held in Unity Church of Dallas and around 120 people attended this wonderful Iftar dinner. After the dinner, Rev. Karen Epps and Imam Nihat Yesil addressed to the audience and a video clip about historical and religious treasures of Turkiye is also shown.

Austin College MSA organized a dinner on October 25th, 2009. Program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Imam Nihat Yesil. Then, our outreach coordinator Mr. Kazan gave a talk about Ramadan.

The Dallas Islamic Center Executives have attended to the Institute of Interfaith Dialog’s Dialogue Dinner at SMU. Dinner was the mosaic of the DFW Metroplex. Namely, there were not only elected officials, but also appointed ones as well as civic leaders. Almost all communities living in DFW Metroplex was represented there, from African Americans to Latinos. At night, President of DIC, Nihat Yesil, gave a speech as well. Yesil emphasized the importance of Dialog from perspective of Holy Quran and Sunnah by reading some verses from Holy Quran.

On September 19th, DIC and First Unitarian Church of Dallas organized a Ramadan Iftar dinner. Program held in Welcome Center of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas and around 100 people attended this wonderful dinner.

The Iftar Dinner started with Azan by Brother Sabit and continued with the speech of the Rev. Dr.Daniel Kanter. Then, Imam Nihat Yesil introduced the activities of DIC and talked about the importance of Ramadan. The program continued with a video for the historical and religious treasures of Türkiye.

DIC and First United Methodist Church Richardson organized an iftar dinner on September 5th, 2009. Around 160 people attended this iftar dinner.

The Iftar Dinner started with Azan by Mr. Sabit and continued with the speech of the Pastor Dr. Clayton Oliphint. Pastor Clayton talked about the importance of coming together, knowing each other and he said “I hope that this is only beginning of ongoing relationship, dialog and friendship with DIC.” Then, Imam Nihat Yesil introduced the activities of DIC and talked about the importance of Ramadan and benefits of the fasting to us and to the community. The program ended with a video for the historical and religious treasures of Türkiye.

On August 29th, DIC and First Presbyterian Church of Dallas organized a Ramadan Iftar dinner. Program held in Bryd Hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas and around 180 people attended this wonderful dinner.

The Iftar Dinner started with Azan by Bilal Sabit and continued with the speech of the Pastor Joe Clifford. Pastor Clifford talked about the Christian feast and its meaning within the Presbyterian tradition of Christianity. Then, Imam Nihat Yesil introduced the activities of DIC and talked about the importance of Ramadan and benefits of the fasting to us and to the community. The program ended with a video for the historical and religious treasures of Türkiye.
