DIC members celebrated Eid-el Adha on Sunday, Nov 6, 2011. Eid program started with the recitation of Quran and followed by the Eid Prayer. DIC also provided breakfast to brothers and sisters. Kids enjoyed the Eid in the playing area and are given gifts by DIC. Moreover, as the core of the Eid necessitates sharing, the meat of sacrificed animals also given as charity to the people in need around DFW area.

The Dallas Islamic Center celebrated the Blessed Mubarak night “Berat Night ” in the holy three months on July 15th, 2011. Program started with the recitation of Quran by Mr.Nihat Yesil  and Theologian Mr.Erkan Kurt  talked about meaning and importance of  the Night. Program is ended with prayer and iftar dinner is served afterwards. Berat Night: Night of the Emancipation, this Holy Night occurs on the 15th of Sha’ban. It is during this great month that Allah Almighty takes the account of His creation. This month should not go unnoticed. The Holy Prophet (may Peace and Blessings be upon him) would fast most of this month and after sunset on Laylat al-Bara’at.

The Dallas Islamic Center organized Mawlid program, to celebrate birth of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) on Feb 14th, 2011. Mawlid program started with the recitation of Quran by Imam Yesil. Program continued with the religious songs. Mr. Nizamettin Kaya also gave a speech about life of Muhammed (pbuh).

The Dallas Islamic Center celebrated the kandil; “Night of Power (Laylatul-Qadr)” on September 5th, 2010. The program started after Iftar with the recitation of Quran by Imam Yesil and continued with a talk by Imam Adem from Houston. The night ended with Teravih prayer and dua for finishing whole Quran in congregational prayer during the Ramadan by Imam Hamidullah.

The Dallas Islamic Center celebrated the kandil; “Night of Ascension (Laylatul-Mi’raj)” on July 8th, 2010. The date marks the journey of messenger Muhammed (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Jerusalem, and his ascension to the heavens from there within one night. The program started with the recitation of Quran and continued with a talk by Imam Nihat Yesil. Mr. Sabit recited a chapter from Mawlid about the night of ascension. The night ended with a prayer and an iftar dinner.

The Dallas Islamic Center celebrated the very first Mubarak night “Regaib Night (Laylat al-Ragha’ib)” in the holy three months on June 17th, 2010. Program started with the recitation of Quran by Imam Hamidullah and Imam Nihat Yesil talked about meaning and importance of Regaib Night. Program is ended with prayer and iftar dinner is served afterwards.

The Dallas Islamic Center organized Mawlid program, to celebrate birth of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) on Feb 26th, 2010. Mawlid program started with the recitation of Quran by Imam Yesil. Program inclued a presentation about the birth and life of our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh).Then, the beautiful story of birth of Muhammed (pbuh) from very famous vocal composion called “Mawlid” is read which is recited for centuries in many countries on holy days and nights, weddings, circumcisions and at ceremonies honoring the great, deaths, births, send offs of soldiers and pilgrims, etc. Program continued with the religious songs by our kids. They were wonderful in their performance. Mr. Kemal Sahin also gave a speech about life of Muhammed (pbuh).

There was a very good turn-out for the mawlid program on March 13th organized by DIC. Mawlid is a cultural and religious celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad – upon Him be peace.
