Children of Abraham are Breaking Fast Together
Richardson, TX – July 26, 2010 – The Dallas Islamic Center is announcing the details for a traditional Ramadan ‘Iftar’ dinner in collaboration with the Unity Church of Dallas. The food will be prepared by the members of the Dallas Islamic Center and the event will take place in the Unity Church of Dallas. Christians and Muslims will be breaking bread together to know each other better and celebrate a night of interfaith friendship.
Over a billion Muslims throughout the world observe Ramadan, the holy month in the lunar calendar, by fasting during the days and sharing dinners with neighbors in the nights. Imam Nihat Yesil of DIC says: “Ramadan is a time of giving and sharing. It is a great time to promote understanding and dialogue with our neighbors, as well as a reminder for the suffering of the needy in our community.”
